Full Description

Queen Size Hi-Low Adjustable Bed — More Room, Same Medical Function

The Flexabed Queen Size Hi-Low SL delivers the full electric positioning and height adjustment of a medical-grade hospital bed, built into a piece of furniture that actually belongs in a bedroom. At 60" wide, it gives two occupants comfortable sleeping room while maintaining every feature caregivers and patients depend on — Hi-Low height adjustment, independent head and foot positioning, and compatibility with Hoyer and floor-based patient lifts.

Unlike clinical hospital beds with bare metal frames, the Flexabed is constructed from furniture-grade materials with a wood-finish headboard and footboard. It looks like a real bed, takes standard bedding, and fits naturally into a home environment — while delivering push-button control over every position.

Full Electric Hi-Low Operation

Three independent LINAK actuator motors control every position with quiet, smooth precision:

  • Bed Height (Hi-Low): Raises and lowers the entire sleeping surface vertically to reduce caregiver back strain and allow safe patient transfers
  • Head Position: Adjusts up to approximately 65 degrees for reading, watching TV, eating, or respiratory positioning
  • Foot Position: Raises to approximately 45 degrees independently for leg elevation and circulation
  • All positions operate independently or simultaneously — unlimited positioning combinations

Hi-Low Height Range

  • Standard height range: 13.25" to 20.75" (deck height)
  • Casters removed: 11" to 18.5"
  • Top of mattress to floor (standard 10" mattress): 23.25" to 30.75"
  • Under-bed clearance: 5.5" lowered / 11.5" raised — compatible with Hoyer and other floor-based patient lifts

Mattress Options

  • Premier Innerspring: Available in soft, medium, or firm — traditional spring feel
  • Memory-Foam Combo: Foam comfort layer over supportive base — most popular all-around choice
  • Memory-Foam Core: Full memory foam for deep pressure relief
  • Latex Core: Natural latex for responsive, breathable support
  • GEL/Memory-Foam Combo: Gel-infused memory foam for temperature regulation and pressure relief

Length Options

  • 74" — Standard length for most users
  • 80" — Extended length for taller users
  • 84" — Maximum length for users over 6'2"

Hand Control Options

  • Wired hand control: Lightweight with large switches — stays connected to the bed at all times via built-in holders on the frame
  • Wireless hand control: Same large-button design without the cord — ideal for users who have difficulty managing a tethered control

Optional Add-Ons

  • Bed Rails: Available for one or both sides for patient safety and repositioning assistance
  • Dual Massage: Vibration massage built into the bed for relaxation and circulation

Who Benefits Most from the Flexabed Queen Hi-Low SL

Ideal For:

  • Couples or two-person households where one or both occupants need positioning or height adjustment
  • Single occupants who want more sleeping width than a twin without stepping up to a king footprint
  • Home care patients who need Hi-Low height adjustment for safe transfers with caregiver assistance
  • Assisted living situations requiring caregiver access without a clinical-looking bed
  • Patients with chronic pain, COPD, emphysema, asthma, sciatica, arthritis, or obesity who benefit from repositioning throughout the night
  • Patients using a Hoyer or floor-based patient lift — Hi-Low clearance accommodates most lift bases

May Not Be the Right Fit If:

  • Single occupant exceeds 400 lbs weight capacity
  • Combined dual occupant weight exceeds 700 lbs (no single occupant may exceed 400 lbs)
  • Two occupants need fully independent head and foot positioning — consider the Split-King
  • Patient requires a full clinical hospital bed with IV poles, side rail systems, or Trendelenburg positioning

Compare Flexabed Sizes

  • Twin — 38" wide: Best hospital bed replacement for a single occupant, fits any bedroom
  • Full — 53" wide: More sleeping room for a single occupant
  • Queen — 60" wide (this page): Comfortable for two, shared positioning control
  • Split-King — 76" wide: Two independent twins for couples needing independent positioning
