Therapy Hospital Bed Mattress

The Prius VLX Foam Mattress is a low to high risk system for patients who are at risk of developing stage 1, 2 and single site stage 3 pressure ulcers. Prius Foam Mattresses can also be used for patients who have an existing stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 pressure ulcer.

This tri-layered mattress is designed to work on all adjustable hospital and home care beds. Its primary application is to prevent skin breakdown in users that could be at risk of skin ulcers due to spending so much time in bed. The VLX mattress also features soft head and heel sections to protect vulnerable areas.

Full Cool Visco Elastic Foam (Memory Foam) top layer, comfort foam middle layer, soft foam foot section, firm foam support base, full length firm side rails, urethane stretch top cover and a vinyl base cover.

The VLX Mattress optimizes pressure distribution that reduces the urge to toss-and-turn. That means less re-adjusting and re-positioning during the sleep cycle.

Tri-Layered Construction

Layer 1: Full Cool Visco Elastic Foam Top Layer

The top layer features full visco elastic (memory foam) that provides superior pressure relief and temperature control. The cool visco foam accomplishes two beneficial health objectives: it provides better full body support and creates a cool surface for the body, helping to prevent overheating during sleep.

Layer 2: Zoned Middle Layer with Comfort Foam

The middle layer uses zoned comfort foam strategically placed to provide targeted support where needed most. The heel soft foam foot section offers extra cushioning for vulnerable heel areas, reducing pressure points and improving circulation.

Layer 3: Firm Foam Support Base

A firm foam support base provides the structural foundation, ensuring proper spinal alignment and preventing the body from sinking too deeply into the mattress. This layer helps resist gravity and maintain healthy body positioning.
