Genuine Hoyer OEM Replacement Actuator for Presence Lifts
As many of the other components for the Presence Lift you must identify which Presence model this part is for. These are the lifting actuators for the standard HOY-Presence and the Presence-S models. The 'S' model has the Smart Monitor.
How to choose the right part number for your lift
Part #: 0Y0087 - Standard Actuator (HOY-Presence)
For Hoyer Presence Lifts WITHOUT Smart Monitor.
Part #: 11014708 - Actuator for Presence with Smart Monitor (PRESENCE-S)
For Hoyer Presence lifts equipped with Smart Monitor technology.
Smart Monitor Technology Explained
The Smart Monitor control box is a programmable system that accurately records and displays vital lift utilization and service data. Healthcare facilities benefit from detailed usage tracking that supports maintenance scheduling, compliance documentation, and equipment lifecycle management.
Smart Monitor Records:
- Total Lift Cycles: Complete count of all lifts performed since installation
- Total Work Done: Cumulative actuator workload measurement for maintenance scheduling
- Overload Incidents: Number of attempted lifts exceeding safe working load (critical safety data)
- Days in Service: Total operational time tracking for warranty and replacement planning
This data retrieval capability allows facility managers to track equipment usage patterns, identify high-use periods requiring additional equipment, document compliance with maintenance schedules, and make informed decisions about equipment replacement timing.
Not sure which version you have? Check your lift for an LCD display screen on the control box. If present, you have Smart Monitor. If no display screen, you have standard HOY-Presence.
Actuator Control
Processes signals from the hand pendant to precisely control actuator speed and direction. The control box manages gentle start/stop sequences preventing jerky movements that could alarm or injure patients during lifts.
Safety Systems
Built-in safety features include emergency lowering capability (manual override if electronics fail), overload protection (prevents lifting beyond safe capacity), and automatic shut-off if malfunction detected.
Using OEM parts maintains your lift's safety certifications and compliance with healthcare facility regulations. Third-party electronics may void certifications and create liability concerns.
Warranty Protection
Installing genuine Hoyer parts protects your lift's warranty coverage. Using non-OEM electronics can void remaining warranty and may cause damage to other lift components not covered under warranty.
Proven Reliability
Joerns control boxes undergo extensive testing and quality control. Field-proven reliability means fewer failures, less downtime, and greater confidence in critical patient transfer situations.
Troubleshooting Before Replacement
Before replacing the control box, verify the issue isn't caused by other components:
- Check Battery: Ensure battery is fully charged and holds charge properly
- Inspect Connections: Verify all cable connections are secure and corrosion-free
- Test Hand Pendant: Try different pendant if available to rule out pendant failure
- Check Emergency Stop: Ensure emergency stop isn't engaged
- Verify Power: Confirm battery voltage with multimeter if possible
If the lift operates intermittently or displays error codes, the control box is likely at fault. Contact our parts specialists for diagnostic assistance if unsure.
Identifying Your Lift Serial Number
Not sure which component is correct for your lift? Your lift's serial number contains the configuration information. The serial number plate is typically located on the lift mast or base frame.
When ordering, provide your serial number in the order notes and we'll verify the correct control box for your specific lift. This eliminates confusion and ensures you receive the right part the first time.
Warranty
Genuine Hoyer ACTUATORS include a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water exposure, or electrical surges.
