If you need to slow the walker down, so that the user does indeed have to push it rather than it simply rolling away, this slow-down brake will pressure on the wheel to stop free-wheeling and slow down the walker. Adjusting the knob creates tension on the wheel. Slow-down brakes help to even the direction of travel when one side of the body is stronger than the other.
